How to overcome your mountains

"For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything but a new creature" (Galatians 6:15, NKJV).
One of the greatest revolutions that might occur in human life is a new birth. Therefore, I wrote a little book with a surprising title: "You don’t like how you’ve been born? Get born again! ". Jesus said to Nicodemus: "You must be born again!" If we believe in Jesus Christ and make Him the Lord of our lives, we become the "new creation in Christ Jesus" (2Cor 5:17). Not only that we were forgiven for our sins, but "the old passed away and behold all is new."

As a new creature you’ve got new and undreamed possibilities ahead of you. You don’t need to evaluate your future by your past. Your future can be as great as God's plans for your life. Since you have become a new creation, you no longer have to measure your success by what you succeeded in your life or not. God's thoughts on you are better and higher and His future "happy" (Jer. 29:11).

Then, however, for you to be able to enter into God's plans, you need "to walk according to the rule of new creation." (Galatians 6:16). English Amplified translation says the following: 'Peace and mercy be upon all who walk by this rule (who discipline themselves and regulate their lives by this principle)..."

Thank God that you’re a new creature, but do you walk according to this rule? Did you subordinate your life to the principles of The Word of God? Did you uproot weeds and sin in your garden? God has put His nature in you and gave you the authority to win in your life. But it will not be automatic. However, if you get disciplined and grow from one area to another into the likeness Jesus Christ, sooner or later you will see God's "shalom" in your life. Maybe you still didn’t overcome some of the mountains. Perhaps you’ve got defeated by some of the giants and lost some battles. But you’re still here and God has a second chance for you.

One famous mountaineer held a press conference after he failed to win over one mountain. He was showing slides, which photographed just before the finish. He acknowledged his defeat, but at the end he turned to the mountain which was on the canvas and said: "This time you have beaten me, but I will not give up. Remember that you cannot grow longer, but I still do..." I know that some mountains are gigantic and they seem to be over your capacities. You’ve attempted to climb on some of them, but you didn’t overcome them. But you are growing in God! You don’t stagnate but you’re progressing. You learn to walk according to the rule of the new creation and one day you’ll win over them as well.
